Which alloy for which steel
Pick the steel you make. We show the alloys that go into it.
Stainless steel
Stainless grades need chromium for corrosion and oxidation resistance. Low carbon ferro chrome keeps carbon down where the grade demands it.
Carbon and structural steel
Manganese and silicon deoxidise the melt and add strength. Silico manganese brings both in one addition, and ferro manganese covers higher manganese needs.
Special and alloy steel
Alloy grades combine manganese, chromium and silicon to reach strength and high-temperature properties. Chemistry is matched to the grade you melt.
Flat steel
Flat products depend on controlled deoxidation and a steady manganese level for strength.
Transformer and motor steel
Electrical steels carry silicon to raise resistivity and cut core losses. Ferro silicon at 70% Si is the silicon source.
Welding electrodes
Low carbon ferro chrome powder goes into welding and stick electrodes.
